FGCU-UM Tied 1-1 in the Weekend Series
October 26, 2013 by Jill Himmelfarb
The D3 Eagles came home with a loss to the University of Miami but held their hopes
high. They were bringing the UM Hurricanes onto their home ice and they were
determined not to have a repeat of Friday’s game in Miami. Although the Eagles
managed to get on the board first in Miami with Jon Fanara scoring back-to-back
goals giving the boys a 2-0 lead over UM, Miami dominated the rest of the game
Friday night and the Eagles lost by a score of 5-2...

FGCU Eagles Lose Nationals Qualifying Game in Overtime
February 27, 2013
Friday evening was a great night for FGCU, as our D3 squad dominated and
defeated the University of North Carolina - Wilmington Seahawks (4-2) in order to
face off with the Ole Mississippi Rebels for a late Saturday matinee match up on
South Carolina ice. By the looks of the penalties tally almost filling up the score sheet,
it may be safe to say this was a knock down, drag out physical match as neither team
wanted to pack to leave this tournament. In the scoring...

FGCU Eagles Drop All Four Contents with Central Florida Rivals
January 27, 2013
The FGCU D3 squad hosted the University of Central Florida (UCF) on Germain ice
the weekend of January 18th and fell just short on the series with a sweep by UCF.
These games packed some great fast and physical action for both teams, but FGCU
was out played and scored even as they skated rather well. It should be noted that
UCF is ranked #2 currently, as they have not lost a game since October 21, 2012.
Both matches were low scoring competitions...

Eagles Earn Weekend Sweep!
December 6, 2012
This past weekend at Germain Arena packed a ton of hockey action, and then some,
as both Divisions of FGCU Eagles hockey were home hosting guests and the
Everblades held their annual Teddy Toss for the Holiday and a series with Greenville.
Pee Wee and Junior leagues were active within the Everblades organization, so it was
grand not being able to walk into some form of hockey anywhere in the arena. The
atmosphere held good things as our D3 squad faced...

place with these opponents facing one another, and unfortunately for FGCU it wound
up in a sweep of the series for KSU.' Saturday evening did belong to KSU, as they
finished regulation with a shut out on FGCU's (#29) Kyle Torres with a final tally of
6-0. Even with FGCU out shooting KSU 31-29, it was not...

a strong game to their house. The Panthers’ starting goaltender, Steven Van Kuyk,
