| A native of Smiths Falls, Ontario, Canada, Joshua Onyschuk grew up playing minor hockey for the Smith Falls Bears. After playing minor hockey, Josh moved on to play two seasons of junior hockey with the Perth Blue Wings of the Easton Ontario Junior "B" Hockey League followed by a season with the Smiths Falls Bears Junior "A" Team, which competed in the Central Junior Hockey League in Canada. Onyschuk created a strong junior hockey resume and consequently moved on to play college hockey for the Humber College Hawks. While with Humber College, Josh captured both the 2003 & 2004 Ontario College Athletic Association's Mens Hockey Championship. After graduating from Humber College, Josh relocated to Southwest Florida to pursue work as a realtor. Upon arriving in Fort Myers, Onosychuk could not comepletely abandon his roots as a Canadian and immediately got involved in the hockey community as a coach with the Jr. Everblades. Coach Onosychuk becomes a college hockey coach for the first time in 2007. |
| Born in Harvey, Illinois, Nick Wichmanowski grew up in Port Richey, Florida as a hockey enthusiast. Wichmanowski put himself on the hockey map in the state of Florida when he founded the FGCU Hockey Program in 2002. Nick's vision and determination to bring quality college hockey to Southwest Florida, produced a first class program, which is among the best in the country. In 2004, after playing two seasons for the Eagles as both the team president and an assistant captain, Nick graduated from FGCU with a degree in Business Management and regrettably had to leave the program that he started. Upon graduation, Nick moved on to start coaching minor hockey with the Florida Jr. Everblades and immediately found success behind the bench, leading all of his teams to winning seasons. Nick also coached high school hockey in Fort Myers and gained some valuable experience working with older players. Nick returns to FGCU as Coach Wichmanowski and has high expectations for the new Division 3 Team. |
