Eagles Return to the Ice Against Junior Affiliate
FGCU Hockey Sweeps Space Coast Junior Hurricanes

As the players returned to Southwest Florida from holidays the Eagles were given the opportunity to take on their in-state affiliate the Space Coast Hurriances of the Metropolitan Junior Hockey League. The Hurricanes have proven to be worthy opponents for the Eagles and are to be commended for their exceptional skill and effort. With that said, the FGCU Hockey Team used the weekend series to work out the holiday rust and help their three new players get some valuable playing time before getting back into the regular season schedule. On Friday night, the Eagles put up a solid defensive effort and blanked the Hurriances by a score of 6-0. Space Coast rebounded on Saturday evening with a strong effort and played the Eagles to a two goal game eventually losing by a score of 4-2. The following players have been added to the roster for the second semeste: Matthew Maida (Mississauga, Ontario, Canada), Ryan Elliott (Mississauga, Ontario, Canada), and Nick Rice (Easthampton, Massachusetts, USA). |
