FGCU Hockey Hosts Club/Org. Night & Greek Night
Eagles fans prepare to welcome bigtime rival!

After capturing the Gulf Coast Clash Championship, the FGCU Ice Eagles prepare to host one of the team's biggest rivals in the Kennesaw State University Owls. The upcoming weekend of hockey will provide the very best in hockey entertainment. Kennesaw State University is currently ranked #2 in the South of Division 3 in the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) and the Eagles are ranked #4 in the Southeast Conference of the ACHA's Division 2. Although the two teams are now longer in the same division, they have built up a strong rivalry over the past few years. Last year alone, the Owls took two from the Eagles and FGCU will look to avenge those losses.
As the team looks to host one of the biggest weekends of hockey at FGCU during the season, we also be hosting the all of the university's Club & Organizations during Club & Org Night on Friday, January 19, 2007. On Saturday, January 20, 2007 FGCu Hockey will host all the Greeks. All members of recognized FGCU Clubs & Organizations & Greek Life will receive a free gift at the game. There will be tons of giveaways including a t-shirt toss. In addition the first 100 students to get to the game on both nights will recieve a free puck for the chuck a puck competition. The winner of these competition will get an iPod. Finally, the owner of Stoney's Sports Cafe, FGCU Hockey's afterparty home will be on hand during the weekend to participate in a ceremonial faceoff. |
