The FGCU Hockey Team will be travelling to Fort Collins, Colorado to participate in the 2007 ACHA Division II National Championships. This year marks the first time in Florida Gulf Coast University history that any team has competed in a Division II National Championship in the sport of hockey. After a season which saw the Ice Eagles earn a record of 33-4-1-2 (W-L-T-OTL), FGCU looks to establish themselves as a nationally ranked program at this year's tournament. With the top sixteen teams from Division 2 hockey in attendance, the competition will be intense. Don't miss any of the action as all games will be videocast live, and FGCU's broadcast crew of Jeff Healey & Miranda Hickel will also call the action. It should be an exciting week of hockey as the Eagles attempt to capture Florida Gulf Coast University's first ever national championship. The Eagles will open up the tournament against perennial powerhouse Michigan State in their first game on Wednesday, March 6 at 6:30 PM (MST). |
