Tryouts See Record Numbers
FGCU Hockey hosted over 55 hopefuls during the Fall 2007 Tryout Session

As players took to the ice for the first time in over four months, Germain Arena was the center of attention as the FGCU Hockey Team hosted their Fall 2007 tryouts. Over fifty-five (55) prospective players attended the tryout sessions and all players are to be commended for their efforts. The increase in numbers was accompanied by a dramatic increase in the talent of prospective incoming players. Coach Brinkworth commented on the tryouts by saying "It was one of the most difficult evaluations I have ever had to make. When you have this much talent partnered with hard-work, it becomes extremely difficult to choose the best." On Friday, September 7, 2007, Coaches Bob Brinkworth & Alex Weisenburger announced the official 2007-2008 roster.
After an intense evaluation process, the coaching staff would like to thank all players that bravely attempted to earn a spot on the FGCU Hockey roster and would like to remind everyone that the FGCU Hockey Team will host open tryouts again on January 7, 2008 from 3:00 PM - 4:30 PM at Germain Arena. With the new roster posted, this year's version of the Ice Eagles is one with much depth and talent. The team will be working hard over the next four weeks to prepare for their second season as a Division II Team. The team practices every Tuesday and Thursday from 3:00 PM - 4:30 PM at Germain Arena, so if you can't wait for the hockey season to start, come out and watch the team as they prepare to take on one of the most challenging schedules in FGCU Hockey history. click here to view roster
